Undefeated Fall 2006 Tigers

Tigers from left to right: Kelsey Crow, Kaitlyn Mclallen, Kenzi Brenton, Kynlee Cunninham, Lucia Burgess, Destiny Huffman, Sarah Farrell, Jordon Sawyer, Brianna Rutherford.

Tigers: Tigers maul Whitehall in season opening game.

Team NewsThe Tiger’s opening game was another showcase for the team’s talent of putting the ball into the back of the net. The first half was dominated by the tiger’s forward Destiny scoring two goals in the first three minutes while the defensive back Kelsey Crow kept Whitehall from getting the ball into range for a goal shot. Tigers forward Kenzi had two attempts on goal and played an amazing defensive game. The Tigers goalie was taken out early in the first half by a late kick on ball by the Whitehall forward line. She was replaced by Alyssa Canady who had a big save late in the first half. Lucia Burgess sealed the first half lead with her first goal of the season going high into the goal.

The second half was an exciting effort as the tiger’s new player Lexi had three attempts on goal, missing one by inches. Tigers new forward Melody had several big tackles keeping the Whitehall team from moving the ball forward to goal. Late in the the second half midfielder Jordon made a big tackle at center/midfield that she ran to the right post and then took a crossing shot on goal that the goalie was not able to stop putting the score at 5-2 for the win.

Fall Seaon Comes to an End

Team News

As our fall season comes to an end I would like to thank everyone for all their support, help and time that they dedicated to our team. This was our best season ever, not because we won but because all of the players had a great time and learned a lot about this game. The biggest reason our players did so well was because of all the support from the parents. Everyone was great and it was a nice feeling when the team told me how good it made them feel to hear their names cheered at their games. We hope we get everyone back in the spring and we will be counting the days till we can make you girls run some more wind sprints and laps. Have a great off season and we will see you in the spring!

All of the pictures from this season were posted last night including the party at Larry’s Pizza so go have a look at the best team to ever take a soccer pitch in Bryant.

Tigers: Tigers Maul Whitehall and Go Undefeated!

Team NewsField Conditions: Good

The Tigers went all out in their final game with Whitehall while breaking all their previous records: Most wins in a row: 8, first undefeated season, first win at Whitehall, most saves in a season by the goalie: 65, goals scored by a player:33, most penalties:9, most assists: 44 and they keep going!

A preview of what to come happened at the first kickoff of the game when Destiny took the ball and scored the first goal of the game. Tiger forwards Lucy and Kynlee took the ball deep into Whitehall territory late in the second half with the long pass from midfielder Jordon Sawyer. As Lucy made her way between defenders she lost the ball to Whitehall’s goalie. As the goalie was kicking the ball back downfield she lost control, dropped the ball and then picked it back up giving the Tigers an indirect kick in the goal box. Lucy served the ball to Destiny who kicked it high into the air and just when we thought it was going to go over the goal it dropped like a rock into the goal giving the Tigers a 2-0 lead. In the final minutes of the first half Jordon made a big tackle and ran downfield with Kenzi. Their attack on goal was broken up but not before Kenzi could make the pass to Destiny that would end the first half with a 3-0 lead. Tigers Goalie Kaitlyn stopped all three attempts on goal by Whitehall.

The second half was a showcase for the Tigers Defense as Sarah and Kelsey stopped everything that came their way and sent the ball back downfield. Midfielder Jordon was on a roll with her record 16 tackles and combined this defensive line stopped anyone that was lucky enough to break into Tiger’s territory. Goalie Kaitlyn stopped both of Whitehall’s attempts on goal while Tigers forward line scored two more goals ending the game with the final score being.

Tigers:5 - Whitehall:0

Tigers: Tigers Squeeze out Another Win.

Team NewsThe Tigers played another great game this weekend against Bryant #2. Bryant #2 really put the pressure on the Tigers this weekend and made them earn this win like no other team could. The Tigers came into the game with only one substitution so all the wind sprints and laps paid big dividends for the team as their stamina allowed them to put the pressure on both sides of the field.
The big news of the game was Kynlee’s first goal of the season in the first half of the match.

Tigers:4 - Bryant #2:3

 Tigers: Tigers Continue to Dominate!

Team NewsSheridan vs. Tigers

Field Conditions: Perfect

The Tigers came into this game favored to win but Sheridan was first to score with a fast break up the middle. The Tigers answered back with Lucia Burgess scoring on her second attempt at goal. The rest of the half was dominated by Tigers midfielder Jordon Sawyer keeping the ball in Sheridan territory and Tigers forwards keeping the ball moving toward the goal. Kenzi Brenton had the crowd on their feet as she moved down the middle and received a pass from Lucia Burgess that zinged past the goal post when she took her shot. Brianna Rutherford also had two shots on goal, the first was barley saved by Sheridan goalie and the second goal was at the back of the net before the referee called her off sides. In the final minutes of the first half Sheridan had a hand ball in the penalty box that set Destiny Huffman to close the first half with a one point lead for the Tigers. The first half of the match was closely called by the referee with the most turn overs being from bad throw ins.

The second half of the match put the Tigers midfield and defenders to work as Sheridan made several runs deep into the Tigers territory but Defenders Sarah Farrell, Kynlee Cunninham and Kelsey Crow and Tigers star goalie Kaitlyn Mclallen keep the Sheridan team from scoring on any of their break aways. Destiny Huffman scored on a pass from Lucia Burgess giving the Tigers a 2 point lead over Sheridan. At the 15 minute mark Sheridan was called for another hand ball in the penalty area giving the Tigers another penalty kick. Tiger’s midfielder Jordon Sawyer took the penalty kick but Sheridan’s goalie was able to make the save stopping the tigers from increasing their lead. Sheridan also received an official yellow card, the referee actually went to her pocket and carded the player for personal fouls on Tiger’s forwards Destiny Huffman and Brianna Rutherford. As the second half wore down to the final seconds Tigers forward Brianna Rutherford make a fake leaving her defender in the dust and she plowed down the side and scored on the cross over shot.

Sheridan: 1 - Tigers: 4

We have also added close to 11 pages of new pictures from this season including games with Whitehall and Malvern.
